20 Most Powerful Asians in British Media

THE PANEL
The list of the most powerful Asians in British media was compiled by a small panel of judges who have many years of experience working in the media industry.


Sunny Hundal, editor of Asians in Media
Editor and founder of Asians in Media magazine, Sunny has been commentating on media issues for nearly two years now. He previously worked as a freelance journalist and a new media industries consultant.

Reeta Chakrabarti, political correspondent for the BBC
Reeta reports on politics and parliament for television and radio at the BBC. She became a reporter for the Breakfast Programme on the newly launched BBC Radio Five Live in 1994. In 1999 Reeta secured her current role as political correspondent for the BBC, working across a range of programmes in television and radio, reporting on politics for BBC1, BBC2, News 24, Radio 4 and Five Live.

Nina Nannar, ITN arts and media correspondent
Nina covers all media and entertainment stories here and abroad for ITN (ITV). She was previously at the BBC working on news programme for Midlands Today, 5-Live and quiz shows for BBC2. She also contributes to celebrity programmes for ITV2 eg on the Beckhams.

Pedro Carvalho, founder FNIK public relations agency
Pedro has worked in ethnic media for over 10 years. Prior to setting up his own agency FNIK, he worked at the agency Media Moguls for 9 years, of which he was also a co-founder. At FNIK he looks after the PR for the likes of Rishi Rich, Jay Sean, the EMMA awards.

Vikram Dodd, Guardian journalist
A reporter for The Guardian, Vikram who has broken stories on a range of issues, including abuse in British jails, the war on terrorism, politics, the police, war criminals and asylum and immigration. His area of speciality is race politics.

Asians In Media is an online media and current affairs magazine. We publish news, reviews and opinion that fits into that editorial remit. We also aim to promote further diversity in British media.
