Samir Shah

Managing director, Juniper productions

Formerly one of John Birt's acolytes, Shah was head of current affairs at the BBC from 1987 to 1994 and then head of political programmes until 1998.

Shah is still a force in the industry. He is now managing director of Juniper, one of the few ethnic minority-owned production companies in the UK.
