The Greatest Game on Earth - A Collection of Footballing Verse
by Emdad Rahman

Born and brought up in the East End of London, Emdad Rahman fell in love with football when he watched his hero Bryan Robson orchestrate a resounding 3-0 win against an all star Barcelona team at Old Trafford in the European Cup Winners Cup quarter finals in 1984.

The Greatest Game on Earth - A Collection of Footballing Verse is the first published collection of Emdad's footballing poetry. Also included are Sir Alex Ferguson, Ashley Cole, David Pleat, and Liverpool's historic Champions League victory in Istanbul. The books Foreword is by ex Margate boss Chris Kinnear.

If you're into the artistic aspect of football, here's something that is sure to delight and captivate you.

Planet India: The Rise and Rise of the World's Largest Democracy
by Mira Kamdar

A country of English speakers and a free-market democracy, with the youngest population on Earth, India is not only the fastest growing market for the next new thing, but a source for the technological innovation that will drive the global economy.

Yet, India is also in a race against time to bring the benefits of the twenty-first century to the 800 million Indians who live on less than £1 per day, and it must do so in a way that is environmentally sustainable and politically viable on a scale never before achieved. If India succeeds, it will not only save itself, it may save us all. If it fails, we will all suffer. As goes India, so goes the world.

Planet India captures and catalyzes the growing interest in this rising power. With in-depth research, interviews and provocative analysis, Mira Kamdar offers a penetrating view of India and its cultural and economic impact on the world. From Bollywood to the Indian diaspora to India's effect on global politics she reports on the people, companies and places shaping the new India.

British businesses are the biggest investors in the Indian economy and India is fast becoming a major player in the British economy. Kamdar examines the challenges India faces while celebrating India's tremendous vitality and the opportunities this Asian democracy has to shape its own and all of our destinies.

Mira Kamdar is a senior fellow at the World Policy Institute at the New School and frequently comments on India for such outlets as the BBC, CNN and the Los Angeles Times. Her critically acclaimed memoir Motiba's Tattoos: A Granddaughter's journey from America into her Indian Family's Past was a 2000 Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers Selection and won the 2002 Washington Book Award.

Celebrating Diversity
Dr Atul Shah

Difference is normal, Difference is strength, Difference leads to personal growth and economic and social progress. Sadly, it is often seen as a threat and there is a lot of ignorance and dis-respect.

These are the contributions of a major new book entitled 'Celebrating Diversity - How to enjoy, resepect and benefit from Great Coloured Britain' by Dr. Atul K. Shah which is published today by Kevin Mayhew Ltd, an international publisher.

The book draws on Indian wisdom on diversity - it draws on the three-thousand year Indian experience of living with respect among the huge variety of faiths, languages and cultures that have a home there. The book also points out that bio-diversity and human diversity are inter-connected and not separate issues as treated in the modern media.

The author Dr. Atul K. Shah explained: "I have lived in Britain for twenty-five years and worked and lived with a borderless mind, building bridges and creating opportunities wherever I have been."

The author is an educator, social entrepreneur, scholar and broadcaster.
A media launch event has been organized at St. Ethelburgas, 78 Bishopsgate, in the City of London on Thursday 13th September 2007 at 5.30 pm.
