With ambitions to scale the charts as Panjabi MC did, the Rishi Rich Project will be releasing their debut single 'Dance With You', Nachna tere naal, on the 8th of September. The trio, which consists of Rishi Rich (the producer - pictured in the middle), Juggy D (Punjabi vocalist - pictured on the left) and Jay Sean (R&B singer - on the right), have worked with Virgin Records on the single.

The single has been generating a good deal of hype, specially after some well planned appearances and performances at fashion shows and Melas by each of the group. These include the Asian Dreams fashion show and the London Mela.

Although Juggy D and Jay Sean are quite new to the music industry, Rishi Rich does credit to the group as a well established industry veteran. At the age of 13 the maverick producer cut his first record deal as part of a group called ‘2 Kool’. Several remixed albums were released under the moniker, and some even became moderate hits.

He released ‘Simply Rich’, his debut album last year, which featured a collaboration with Juggy D on Nahin Jeena, a single which became fairly popular at Asian clubs. After bagging some well produced collaborations with Craig David, he is also reportedly working on remixes for tracks by Mary J Blige, Sugababes, Liberty X, Ricky Martin and Britney Spears.

Juggy D and Jay Sean on the other hand have yet to release a single or album by themselves in the UK.

The meteoric rise of Panjabi MC’s single earlier this year in the charts has prompted many artists to try and follow in his footsteps. The key element, seen by many, is to produce a club track with Punjabi music elements, yet with sufficient western influence so as not to alienate western audiences.
