New Indian beer launched in the UK for "curry lovers"
18th February, 2003

Rohit Amin, director of Tikka Beer comments; “As a beer lover, I decided to create Tikka Gold, a premium beer of quality, flavour and character for curry lovers to enjoy with their favourite meal. Using a combination of Indian and Pilsner styles I decided on a recipe that utilises rice, alongside some of the best European malts and hops. Working with an independent brewer in Belgium, it has taken me 18 months to perfect the world’s first beer designed to refresh curry eaters’ palates.

In addition to using only the finest European malts, hops and spring water in the brewing process, Tikka Gold uses rice in order to bring a taste of the exotic to the traditional Pilsner recipe, making it the perfect accompaniment to a fiery curry.

Unlike many other beers that claim to go well with curry due to them being less gassy, Tikka Beer Ltd. knows that the best way to deal with the heat generated by curries is to extinguish the fire with a cold beer that has just the right amount of fizz to refresh the palate.

As well as lending its name to Britain’s favourite dish, a Tikka is a mark made on the forehead during Indian marriages. Tikka Gold and curry are a match made in heaven, the perfect partnership of Indian creativity and Belgian know-how, blending the right amount of rice with the perfect balance of malts, hops and spring water, gives the beer its distinctive golden colour and bouquet. The perfect partnership of east and west, combined with the lustrous hue, provide Tikka Gold with the ideal name.

Brewed to 5.0% ABV and available in 275ml and 500ml bottles, Tikka Gold is available now in all good curry houses/Indian restaurants.
