TfL offers public relations internships
23rd January, 2008
Transport for London (TfL) is offering two aspiring PR professionals from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME*) communities a place on its Press Office Internship Scheme. This six-month internship scheme is an example of our ongoing commitment to reflect London's diverse communities and in recognition of the under-representation of people of BAME origin in PR regionally and nationally, as noted by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
Based in our award-winning Press Office, you'll work on stories and events affecting the capital's transport network and gain a range of experience from writing press releases and dealing with journalists to working with different types of media. We can't promise you a job at the end of it, what we can promise you is a bursary, mentoring and the opportunity to receive a unique grounding in the principles and practice of PR.
If you are studying for A-levels or equivalent, are an undergraduate or a recent graduate, we are keen to hear from you.
For more information about the scheme and how to apply, please visit the TfL website at www.tfl.gov.uk/pressinterns
Closing date: Wednesday 30th January 2008.
Interview date: week commencing Monday 18th February 2008.
