My friend wants to be a TV presenter.
Can you please advise first steps into getting this position.

Does anyone know of any Universities that do a course or a course that would help for this job.

Any help would be great.

Vishal

Try the City Lit in Holborn London. But there is a long waiting list. Anything you learn there you could pick up from getting actual experience from one of the Sky TV Channels which often advertise vacancies for Presenters. You could try your luck there. Oh sorry, I mean your "friend".

Vishal, the best way is to gain experience through voluntary work at local radio stations. this will help your friend gain experience and then they could apply elsewhere.

hope this helps.

1) apporach a local t.v. station

2) network at creative events

3) pester people who work in the media. It helps if youre an affable and warm personality.

4) make sure you do actually have the balls to do it and are 199% committed. Also, be prepared for loads of rejection and to more or less improvise at last minute's notice without nothing more than a concept or outline of what youre supposed to do- ive been put in this situation, so believe you and me, you discover very quickly how much adrenalin you can handle.

good luck.

p.s. the above order isnt absolute, so feel free to jiggle it around a bit.
