Not really my cup of tea to be honest but he does have a few catchy tunes.

Definitely grown as an artist i think and has found his own niche

AND at least this guy can sing live : )

I saw him change each time i met him at some do or the other. He deserves his success, simply cause he's a very bright and shrewd businessman, who doesnt make a habit of rubbing people up the wrong way at all. Respect to that, cause he's doing the whole show HIMSELF.

C'mon tourist, I think credit should be given where its due...

Jay has changed a lot since he made it, but thats just what fame does to you. Who are we to judge?

If i was ever in his position I would probably be the same, if not worse....first thing I would do would be to strip my ex boss naked and kick the shit out of him in front of his homeboys...nanga and bruised ego!

We need to stay positive if we wanna progress... even if that means we have to have some guy called Baljinder jit inder blah blah representing us...its all part of the evolution.

I hate to 'hate' on an Asian who is finding success, but I have to say his 'music' is so damn irritating.

Is it his girly whine of a voice that been auto-tuned to f*ck?

Is it that is music is so formulaic?

Is it because whilst in the UK he rode on the coat tails of Rishi Rich. And now he's in the US he's trying the same tactic with Lil wayne?

Is it because apart from the fact that he is Asian, he is indistinguishable from the vast majority of RnB singers?

Just because someone has the same skin colour and culture as me does NOT mean I'm going to support them.

You can't 'buy' my support with that old Asian guilt trip.

And please... he DOES NOT represent me, or my family of illegal immigrants who all live in a small one room bedsit in whitechappel.

U's a hater Mola, its clearly obvious.

Its people with mentalities like urs who end up working for music giants like EMI and Virgin, coz ur brown, but think a little more on the mainstream side.(token) Bit like those jokers on BBC Asian Network.

Jay may not be the perfect artist in any sense of the word, but simply his presence in the music industry gives us all hope that we as Asians, will be moving on to bigger and better things in the coming years...

Btw, how many of yr welfare sponging relatives live in his bed sit?!

Glad that he has broken away from all those bollywood rip offs and just concentrating on rnb

I agree that he doesn't represent all Asians etc but i rate him for sticking to it.

He was hyped up when he sigend on to EMI then dropped like a hot potato

I guess the highs and lows of fame come with the territory

and as i said earlier- at least he can sing live

unlike the likes of girls aloud

"unlike Girls Aloud"

Talk about comparing appleas and pears...

Lets compare him to Craig David, because lets face it, he is a CD wannabe. And in comparison... he's shite.

Anyway, Girls Aloud are fit!!!!

Why don't you start a post and see?

Make it as innocuous as possible.

Perhaps "something like "Which is better Bhangra or Asian Underground"

I'm sure you'll be OK with that one.

I don't really like his new song, he has done way better RnB tracks on his second album......but you have to respect his achievment, number one in the USA, fast becoming one of the biggest pop singers out there......worthy of respect end of story

the song is kinda growing on me now

I'm American and must admit, not a lot of people heard of him before (unless you count the folk in the American Asian music scene) but nothing mainstream wise

Hats off to him
