Description
Najma was the first British born Asian to headline the legendary jazz venue, Ronnie Scotts and is renowned for her unique blend of east meets west, modern jazz with Indian vocals.

Her place in world music history has been established through many successful collaborations and the pioneering of a new musical genre fusing contemporary jazz with the Indian ghazal.

Her last performance in Leicester was part of the Peepul Centre’s outdoor world music festival, World Peepul, in July 2005, and she returns to the city for this special performance to celebrate India Republic Day.
