Birmingham’s Drum to host media diversity event

Black and minority ethnic workers across the media and entertainment sectors are invited to take part in a diversity event at Birmingham’s The Drum.

The Drum, the national centre for Black British arts and culture, will bring together the community of workers represented by BECTU, Equity, the Musicians’ Union, the NUJ, the Professional Footballers’ Association and the Writers Guild at a networking event on Thursday 24 September from 18.30 hours.

The event, which is free to attend, is open to BME workers across the Midlands whether they work on a staff or freelance basis. Union members, and those yet to join, are all welcome.

The evening will feature discussion on the concerns of BME members across the sector and will include time for questions, refreshments and music. Employers will also be represented and members are encouraged to bring interested colleagues.
