Star, the India-based television network, is launching a day long event next month to showcase its programming in the UK.
The event will also serve as a type of Mela with live performances, celebrity interviews and appearances, exhibitor stalls, a food court and an array of activities for families.
The ‘Simply Star’ event will be held on 12th September in London.
It will have a capacity of 5000 guests.
Star is a wholly owned subsidary of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation and caters primarily for an Indian audience.
It broadcasts four channels in the UK on Sky digital: Star Plus, Star One, Star Gold and Star News.
“It has always remained our objective at STAR to bring the best of South Asian programming to our viewers and we endeavour to reaffirm our position as content innovators, by hosting this experiential event which will give our viewers an opportunity to interact and engage with the STAR brand,” said Yeshpal Sharma, vice president of distribution and sales in the UK.
