Digital radio station BBC Asian Network is making changes to its daytime weekday schedule from April to support a new breakfast show with presenter Adil Ray. It will also beef up the station’s news and discussion output.
The Adil Ray show moves to 7am -10am before handing over to Nikki Bedi, whose programme brings the latest from across the world’s of entertainment and arts from 10am—12.30pm.
A new early breakfast show from 5am will include an hour of Devotional Sounds (5-6am) featuring faith inspired music for Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs and Christians.
The first of two Wrap news programmes will now start at 12.30pm and Nihal will host the daily phone-in at the heart of the daytime schedule, where listeners give their take on the news story of the day, from 1pm-3pm.
The new Asian Network schedule will start from Monday April 20 2009.
