Event: Meet radio industry heavyweights
December 25, 2008

An event in January will bring black and minority ethnic talent together with independent radio production companies, to help them progress with their careers.

The free event will provide the opportunity of one-to-one meetings with key representatives from independent radio production companies who make programmes for the broadcasters, particularly the BBC, and often produce programmes developed with individual writers and freelance producers.

The purpose of this day is to bring black and ethnic minority professionals together with executives from independent radio production companies to provide professional advice and guidance, create new contacts and networks and break down barriers that too many ethnic minority workers experience in the creative industries.

The event will feature:

* Keynote presentations from BBC Commissioning Editors, BECTU’s Move on Up project and the Radio Independents Group.

* Workshops to find out how to work more effectively with radio indies.

* One to one sessions for you to meet executives from a range of independent radio production companies.

The brochure and application form below contains more detailed information, including a list of those executives who are participating on the day. When applying for this event, simply indicate which of the executives you would like to meet and they will set up appointments for you.

Please email response to mdykes@tuc.org.uk, no later than Wednesday 7th January.

Alternatively, send postal responses to:
