The BBC has appointed its executive Seetha Kumar as controller for bbc.co.uk, the popular internet arm of the corporation. She will lead editorial strategy and development for the website.
The new role was created following a BBC Trust review that said it lacked “editorial direction and strong management”. Seetha Kumar joined the BBC in 2005 and has been director for crime and health documentaries and head of lifeskills for television.
