Bollywood goes from Slough to Edinburgh
July 23, 2008

Slough based theatre company Rifco Arts will unveil its newest comedy-drama, It Aint All Bollywood, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 3-25 August.

The play features the story of Kiran, who escapes into the colourful world of Bollywood to hide from the harshness of her own surroundings and her neurotic overbearing mother. The Bollywood songs and melodramatic moments take her into a dream world where she can escape from the issues at home.

The ring of the door bell and rekindling of an old friendship start to bring Kiran out of the films and back to reality.

After the success of previous productions, The Deranged Marriage and There’s Something About Simmy, It Aint All Bollywood is will embark a nationwide tour in Autumn 2008.

The show will premier at Edinburgh’s InvAsian, the first festival dedicated to Asian culture, music, dance, comedy, drama, film and art and part of the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, from 3rd – 25th August.

The InvAsian Festival will combine over 30 performance companies from throughout Asia and include some of Britain’s foremost Asian talent, showcasing a varied collection of acts encompassing the wealth of Asian culture on offer.
