Radio 5 Live presenter Anita Anand has been signed up to co-present The Daily Politics show on BBC Two from September.
It airs every lunchtime during the Parliamentary term on BBC Two and is hosted by Andrew Neil.
The programme specialises in tough interviews and discussions on the top political stories of the day.
It also covers issues away from Westminster and speaks to people not normally directly involved in the world of politics.
Anita Anand said: “It isn’t often that you get the chance to work on a programme of which you are such a long-standing and enthusiastic fan. This is certainly one of those times.”
“The Daily Politics tackles the important issues with the people who have the power to affect change. It is an honour to be part of this excellent team.”
Robbie Gibb, editor of The Daily Politics, said: “Anita has a natural warm broadcasting style which she has developed so successfully on BBC Five Live.”
“She has a lightness of touch, genuine connection with the audience and effortless wit. She is a great addition to the Daily Politics.”
Anita has worked on Radio Five Live Drive, The Anita Anand Show, BBC Radio 4’s The World Today, BBC World Service radio, BBC Asian Network and BBC One’s Heaven And Earth Show.
The rising star will continue to present on BBC Radio Five Live.
