Muslim? Single? Looking?
ITV is looking for Muslims to take part in a series about soulmate searching online
A Match Made in Heaven will follow a group of male and female characters of differing ages and backgrounds as they search for their soulmate online. The intention is to use the premise and format of the series as a means of exploring wider lifestyle issues affecting Christians, Jews and Muslims in the UK.
Applicants can be of any level of religious/cultural observance but must be outgoing, relaxed around TV cameras and willing to talk openly about their faith and how it impacts on their lifestyle. They must also be willing to be filmed not only as they search for a soulmate, meets prospects and hopefully develop a relationship, but also in sequences documenting their work or social life which would help to establish their character on screen.
Ideally, they’re looking for new users of the website’s services but also want to hear from people who have already found happiness online or may even be planning their wedding.
A Match Made in Heaven is a newly-commissioned series of observational documentaries for ITV1 which will explore the world of religious and cultural dating agencies. It is being made by ITV’s Specialist Factual and Arts department, the BAFTA and Emmy-winning team responsible for numerous acclaimed religious and historical documentaries as well as flagship arts strand The South Bank Show, edited and presented by Melvyn Bragg and now in its 30th season.
